Keep Your Bridal Event Memories With Wedding Gown Preservation

Most brides put a lot of effort and emotion into selecting the beautiful wedding gown that she will wear on the day of her nuptials. Keeping the wedding dress in good condition is often an important thing to the bride so that she knows it will be a memento to keep for years to come. As a result, wedding gown preservation is important to plan for right along with the other details of the wedding.

Another reason to preserve the wedding gown is so that the bride can pass the dress on to another family member. The bridal gown should be cleaned as soon as possible after the wedding to make sure it is preserved in its best condition.

Even though many people believe that leaving the wedding gown in the protective plastic garment bag is enough to preserve a wedding gown, the fact is that there are harmful fumes that are emitted from the plastic. These are chemical releases that will cause a wedding dress to yellow and will do more harm than good over time.

Correct wedding gown preservation includes cleaning the dress properly and immediately after the wedding day and storing it in an archival quality, acid-free box. It cannot be emphasized enough that the preservation steps should be taken care of as quickly as possible after the wedding and it is recommended to use the services of professionals who are experienced with such preservation techniques.
