90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper was a very interesting read.
I am a sci-fi kind of guy… Piper’s story touched my heart and made me consider aspects of my own life..
The story relates that on his way home from a church conference, a semi-trailer crossed the median and crushed his car. The emergency people said that he died immediately.
While lying lifeless inside his car, Piper writes that he experienced the glories of heaven, awed by the beauty and music.
Although he died for 90 minutes, Piper was brought back to life by several paramedics..
After reading this story, I found it easier to face the issues that come up in my life.. A majority of 90 Minutes in Heaven focuses on Piper’s struggles after his accident..
The intense pain and knowledge that he will never again be normal lead Piper to despair, depression, and frustration.
God placed a number of people in Piper’s life to help him with his depression and despair. Piper starts to share his experience with others and finds God working through his story.
There is no long description of Heaven, which may disappoint some readers.. However, this book will show you that through Godly love and support, we can overcome any obstacle that is presented in our lives.
I would encourage anyone who is down on their luck to read this and see how God can transform your life, as Piper’s recount provides great inspiration.
90 Minutes in Heaven offers a glimpse into a very real dimension of God’s reality. I am not surprised that this incredible story is a former New York Times Bestseller.. The experience dramatically changed Piper’s life. The book chnaged me too.
