How to Wash Clothes for 18 Inch Dolls
Dolls play a significant role in a young girl’s life. They serve as her best friend and sister. When children do not have anyone to talk to, they converse with their dolls. They eat, sleep, and bathe with them. Psychologists say children perceive themselves in the eyes of a doll. Therefore, a girl’s character and personality can best be seen in how she interacts with her doll.
Kids purchase clothes, accessories, and shoes for their dolls. Doll clothes are delicate pieces of wear. They are made up of distinct fabrics and sensitive garments. Like ordinary human clothes, they are classy and expensive. Hence, they need proper care and maintenance to preserve their elegant and stylish look. Are you having difficulty in washing clothes for your 18 inch doll? Doll creators and manufacturers have developed a cleaning technique for doll clothes.
First, prepare vinegar, soap snowflakes, cold water, q-tip, clean white towels, and sleeve board. Gather two to three pieces of glassware or jar. If your doll clothes have stains and marks, prepare a stain removal solution. Manufacturers recommend specific stain removal solutions for rust and ink marks. They effectively remove blemishes and stains without discoloring garments.
Second, color-test the clothes for 18 inch dolls. Dip a q-tip on distilled water, and apply it on the inner seams of the doll cloth. If the fabric reacts on water, do not wash the clothes. Instead, use a foam spray cleaner to clean them. On the other hand, if marks do not form on the seams, wash the garment. Remove snaps, hooks, and beads from the fabric. Pre-treat stained areas with a removal solution.
Third, soak clothes for 18 inch dolls on a vinegar solution. Mix an equal amount of vinegar and distilled water on one of the jars. Soak the clothes for an hour, and rinse them with cold distilled water on the other jar. After this, immerse garments on a soap snowflakes solution. Close the lid of the jar, and shake clothes on the snowflakes solution. If the clothes still look grubby, soak them in an enzyme brightener. Rinse them on distilled cold water.
Fourth, immerse 18 inch dolls clothes on another vinegar solution for about an hour. Rinse them thoroughly, and lay them on the clean white towel. Allow clothes to dry completely. Then, press the clothes on a low-level steam iron.
