The way March Madness is set up, the 64 teams are split into four sub-brackets (16 teams in each). When the bracket is cut to 16 teams, they are regarded to as the “Sweet Sixteen”. The top eight teams are dubbed the “Elite Eight” and the final four teams are fittingly called the “Final Four.”
The tournament kicks off with the very anticipated Selection Sunday official picks on March 14 when college basketball team match-ups are finally announced – followed by the opening round games on March 16.
