Ply Crochet

Ply Crochet
Crochet pattern using 3 ply wool for baby blanket what size?

I have started making crochet blankets for all the new babies in the family but so far the sizes have been all over the place. One turned out huge and cost a lot of money, the next seemed to be too small in comparison. Is there an “ideal” size? Any suggestions on patterns which can be done row by row and not too complicated as I really want to be able to watch TV at the same time. I don’t want them to turn into a chore but want to enjoy the process as there are several new babies on their way this year. Thank you.

If you are using a baby weight yarn, the starting chain would not be any more than 100-150 and that is plenty big. I would recommend a size E or F hook. You don’t even need a pattern, just a good stitch and you can make it as long as you want. Try something with a chain of about 120 and put a shell stitch on it.
