Action Man Today and Action Man Tomorrow

When I was a child action figures were the new thing. Every boy wanted an Action Man doll, only you didn’t call them dolls because they were what girls played with. We called these action figures, not dolls.

Today you can find thousands of action figures with various outfits for boys and for girls. Action Man himself is no longer limited to a few Second World War military outfits. Some of the most popular themes today are the Action Man footballers and the Action Man Polar Explorer. This growing range of figures means that every year there are new models, new themes, new costumes and new accessories to fulfill the demands of a new generation of youngsters.

Most child psychologists agree that dolls are a valuable prop or plaything for boys as well as girls. A doll is a prop that enables a child, boy or girl, to create a fantasy world. These toys help them to make sense of the world around them and to develop their language skills.

The ever growing range of costumes and themes make it certain that Action Man has a very bright future.

Today there is an ever growing range of costumes, themes and accessories to choose from. There are a great selection of accessories to really bring todays Action Man to life. From armour for the knights to jeeps for the military personnel.

There is even an ever growing collectors market as action figure enthusiasts grow into adulthood. Too old to play with them as toys they now become highly collectible, especially limited editions and vintage models. Certain vintage Action Man figures are worth a small fortune, especially if in their original packaging.

Although new toys appear every year Action Man figures remain a firm favourite that are clearly here to stay. Its looking like Action Man has a very bright future as each new generation are introduced to an ever growing range of models.
