Vintage Columbia
Who makes a creamy/buttery wine?
Columbia Crest Grand Estates chardonnay changed their yeast, so the new vintage doesn’t have the buttery taste that I love so much.
La Crema chardonnay is pretty good, but I need an alternative to them in case they change their formula.
I have tried (and am not impressed) with the following wines:
Kendall Jackson
Chateau St. Michelle
Yellow Tail
Beringer
Sutter Home
I live in Los Angeles, so I can get any wine.
Ok… perfect question. I am a pretty big wine enthusiast who lives in Nor Cal and I travel to Napa regularly. I have only found one decent Chard that I can count on to enjoy time and time again and can bring to parties, events, social gatherings where people constantly are amazed how good the wine is. Rombauer Vineyards’ 2005 Carneros Chardonnay, available at any BevMo, is the best… It really has that buttery/creamy taste… not bitter in any way. It does cost around $30/bottle. Don’t worry, it costs $29.25 at the winery. It’s one of those wines that I have opened at room temp and it still tastes great. Try it once…
I am actually a big Zin drinker and love Amador County (Sierra Foothills) Zins and not a big Chard person, but I am sold on this one… Find out more here. Oh yeah, its rated at 93 points.
